TPS62869: Output power issue

Part Number: TPS62869

We are using TPS628692ARQY IC part in our design, but we are not able to set exact output voltage when we write value for VOUT Register 1 with address of 0x01.

And our observations are as below,

*Initially VOUT Register 1 value is 0x00 output 0.95V we are getting, and it is slowly decrease up to 0.8V and then again it starts from 0.95V to 0.8V.
*When VOUT Register 1 value is 0x20, we are getting the voltage value of 1.31V to 1.12V (again it is decrease and increase in that range)
*When VOUT Register 1 value is 0x50, we are getting the voltage value of 1.64V (this time we are getting constant voltage, below 0x50 every values voltage setting are fluctuating)
*When VOUT Register 1 value is 0x64, we are getting the voltage value of 1.95V (but actual value is 1.8V has to get as per datasheet)
*When VOUT Register 1 value is 0xFF, we are getting the voltage value of 3.45V (but max. voltage supported by the IC is 3.35V)

But we have made exact circuit as in web-bench recommend design.

  • Hello Sampat,

thank you for providing a detailed description of your observed behavior.

To identify the reason for the unstable operation, can you please share the schematics and layout of the board? In addition it would be helpful to see the captured waveforms of the fluctuating voltages.

Please share the parameters or screenshot of your webench design parameters.

    Best regards,

    Werner
