TPS2595: Continuous 4A output design

Part Number: TPS2595
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2597

Hi team,

My customer wants to output continuous 4A with TPS259531DSGR, considering variation.
So my customer wants to use Rilm=470Ohm.
But it violates the recommended operating conditions.
Should it be okay?
For my customer, 487Ohm resistor is hard to use, so 470Ohm from E24 is better for delivery.

Best regards,
Kazuki Itoh

  • Hi Itoh San,

This should be fine. We are not characterizing it for this value so please expect some variation in accuracy.

I can see that customer's application is continuous 4A which is very close to limit of this device. Did they consider TPS2597. It has same package size (different pins) and can handle up to 7A.

    Best Regards,
    Arush
