CSD19532Q5B: Question about Isd

Part Number: CSD19532Q5B

Hello team,

I have question about Isd spec for CSD19532. I have referred below link to understand Isd

https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/snvaa86

Isd is limited by max P_diss. So, if FET can dissipate more power, Isd spec will increase. It seems this would be related the package. Do you have better package type than VSON in terms of power dissipation?

Best Regards,

Austin

  • Hello Austin,

Thanks for the inquiry. Please see the technical article at the link below on max power capability of our FET packages. The 5x6mm SON package can dissipate a maximum of about 3W. The only other packages with higher capability are the D2PAK (KTT part number suffix) and TO-220 (KCS part number suffix). The max power dissipation of the D2PAK is about 4W and the TO-220 is capable of 5W or more when using a heat sink. The maximum power dissipation numbers in this article are estimates and actual performance in the customer's system will be very depending on PCB layout and stackup and ambient conditions (Tamb and airflow). Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
