LM5166: Low side current Limit in COT Mode

Part Number: LM5166

Hello,

As per the datasheet maximum low side current limit in COT Mode is 415mA , but maximum DC Load output current is 500mA.

If we consider ripple in inductor current to be around 30% of load , then low side current will be more than 415mA right?

Could you please justufy.

Thank you!

  • Hi Asha,

Thank you for posting.  I think you are right about it, and I guess I understand why you question about it.  Note that I_LS_LIM is introduced to make sure the current does not run away, and it is only activated if the peak current limit is detected.

    Thanks,

    Youhao
