TPS62088: Questions of TPS62088

Part Number: TPS62088

Dear Team,

For IC SWITCHING (R3) TPS62088YFPR DSBGA-6 ADJ. 3A HIGH-EFFICIENCY STEP-DOWN TI surface scratch issue,

is it okay for TI failure analysis process? how to confirm if this component itself is GOOD or NG in terms of function & performance-wise.

Many Thanks,

Jimmy

  • Hi Jimmy,

This looks like a chip out of the IC. Unfortunately, TI customer return process doesn't accept ICs with chip-out caused at customer end.

Do you know what caused these chip-outs? You can test if the part is functional by applying an input voltage and check the output voltage, as well as look for changes in IC input current consumption compared to an undamaged reference unit.

But it won't be possible for us to guarantee functionality or long term performance for the ICs with chip-out.

    Best regards,

    Varun
