UCC28C53: VREF Spikes over Maximum Value

Part Number: UCC28C53

I am using UCC28C53 in my flyback design and am seeing spikes on the VREF pin when a load is applied.

This waveform is DC with a 2A load applied to the output:

It seems the VREF pin sees spikes above 7V when the MOSFET switches. I am concerned about the longevity of the part if this happens. When I use a multimeter, I measure 4.99V on VREF, so it is outputting the correct voltage, but will these spikes I see on the scope cause IC damage? Are these spikes just noise due to layout? What can I change within the circuit to decrease these peaks?

I have tried increasing the capacitance on VREF and have seen no change.
