LV3842: LV3842XDBVR

Part Number: LV3842
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMR14006

Good day Team,

Could you please clarify what the exact parameters of the inductance for 3V3 output of the LV3842XDBVR are? (Resistance, maximum DC current, saturation current, etc.)

It is not really clear in the datasheet.

Also, I have seen on another forum question that there is no PSpice model for the LV3842 and that the LMR14006 model could be used for this device. Is this correct?

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,

Ahmad

  • Hi Ahmad,

Thank you for consider our products.  Regarding the 3.3V output design, please refer to the datasheet (I copy and paste below for your convenience).

Regarding L saturation current spec, it should be the same as for all other Vout versions, because Isat should not be lower than the IC's peak current limit, which is 1.1A typical as indicated in the datasheet ec-table (see below the snapshot)

Regarding the simulation, sorry we do not yet have the model. Where do you see the LMR14006 model could be used instead?  Honestly I don't think so because LMR14006 is a sync buck, namely it employs an internal low side FET as the rectifier, while this LV3842 is an non-sync buck meaning it uses a diode as the rectifier.  The two circuit would have different behaviors especially at light load.

    Hope this clarifies.

    Regards,

    Youhao
