TPS51206: VLDOIN = VDDQ Configuration and VLDOIN Separated from VDDQ Configuration

Part Number: TPS51206

Hello team,

I am confused which configuration I should use.

On 8.2 Typical Application section, there are 2 configurations.

Figure 24 is "VLDOIN = VDDQ Configuration" and Figure 27 is "VLDOIN Separated from VDDQ Configuration"

What are the differences between those configurations?
Which configuration should I use?

Best Regards,
Kei Kuwahara

  • Hi Kei,

You are free to use either of the options listed above as desired. The VLDOIN = VDDQ configuration allows you to easily connect and supply the VDDQSNS and VLDOIN, with VDDQSNS driving the VTT which tracks it, as can be seen in the functional block diagram in section 7.2 and in the feature description in section 7.3. If you expect additional noise or instability or wish to supply differently here, then you may wish to disconnect the two and keep VLDOIN and VDDQ separate, which may also help with future debug should anything arise. Ultimately this is up to your desire requirements, however both implementations should suffice.

    Thanks,
    Field
