Hello,

I'm trying to find out if there is any calculation algorithm to calculate the inductor for a PFC unit design?

I will appreciate if anyone can help.

    Hello Renato,

    You can use the UCC28063 design calculator to determine the boost inductor for your design. Each of our other PFC controllers, such as UCC28180 (single phase CCM), UCC28070 (interleaved CCM), UCC28056 (single phase TM) and UCC28065 (interleaved TM) also have design calculators.

    Section 9.2 on page 29 in the UCC28063 datasheet also shows the detailed design steps and equations for calculating the boost inductor

    You can also use the Power Stage Designer tool to calculate general parameters for various topologies, including boost topologies: https://www.ti.com/tool/POWERSTAGE-DESIGNER 

    Lastly, you can use Webench to quickly generate schematics for your parameters: webench.ti.com/.../
