LM5158: Do you have any PSPICE-FOR-TI schematic data for LM5158EVM-BST?

Part Number: LM5158
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PSPICE-FOR-TI, , TINA-TI

Hello guys,

One of my customers is considering using LM5158 for their new products.

At this moment, they have the following questions.
Could you please give me your reply?

Q1.
They wants to confirm LM5158 behavior with same circuit as LM5158EVM-BST circuit using PSPICE-FOR-TI.
Do you have any PSPICE-FOR-TI schematic data which is same as LM5158EVM-BST circuit?

Q2.
TINA-TI model for LM5158 has not been provided.
Does this mean that TI main simulator is changing from TINA-TI to PSPICE-FOR-TI recently?

Q3.
They wants to change all peripheral parts of LM5158 on LM5158EVM-BST for their usage condition.
Is it best way to use Webench for all peripheral parts selection?

Your reply would be much appreciated.

Best regards,
Kazuya.

  • Hi Kazuya,

Thanks for using the e2e forum.
Here are the replies for each question:

    Q1
We have a PSpice model for LM5158 which can be downloaded here:
    https://www.ti.com/lit/zip/snvmc90
The model comes with a default testbench, which is modeled after the EVM board for convenience. Of course, they can fine tune the parameters and adjusts input voltage, capacitance, etc. to match their design goal

    Q2
Yes, TI switched from TINA over to PSpice as main simulation tool. Newer devices will release with a PSpice model only.

    Q3
We have quickstart calculator tools for Boost, Flyback and SEPIC topology. These are very helpful for part selections.
They can be found in the download section of the product page:
    https://www.ti.com/product/LM5158#design-tools-simulation
As mentioned, they can use Webench designer as well.

    Best regards,
    Niklas

  • Hi Niklas,
