Original question:
I am currently developing a CC CV circuit to charge a 28 V battery.
The constant current should be set to 2 A.
I have come across two different Schematics provided by TI Appilcation Notes.
One where the current monitor feeds back directly into feedback and another where it feeds into the Ramp pin.
The main problem is that the input voltage is nominal at 28.8 V.
Would it still be wise to continue with the LM5117?

1. LM25117, LM5117 device doesn't provide the low dropout mode. 28.8V to 28V step down conversion is not supported.
2. CC mode accuracy of the CCCV converter using LM5117 relies on the accuracy of its current monitor, whcih is +/- 15%.
If you need more tight regulation in CC mode, you have to use an external current sensing circuit. If not, LM25117/LM5117 is good enough for the simple CCCV operation.
