Internal BolckDIAGRAM question.
Is there a Zener diode like D2 and D3, so is it possible to take measures against input surge?

My customer is asking about D2, D3, from Vin in block diagram.

Customer wants to know these D2, D3 can protect surge from Vin? if it is, can you share the surge spec it can protect?

Hi Luke,

I don't think the Zener diodes are intended to protect from a surge on VIN. There is a series 18k resistor anyways, so that already limits the amount of current/power that could be absorbed by them. They will need to add external circuitry if they anticipate a surge that exceeds the device ratings.
