LMR14006 is allowed to operate upto maximum 600mA of current and its overcurrent detection threshold is 1.2A. What is the behaviour between 600mA and 1.2Amp ? why this much difference is given for the overcurrent detection ?

Hello,
LMR14006 can support up to 600mA DC current. Its overcurrent threshold is 1.2A peak, inductor current. The control loop will not go into current limit mode until the peak, inductor current is nominally at 1.2A.
Being that peak inductor current varies with input voltage and this is a wide input voltage buck, there needs to be headroom on the max DC load current for this device to be able to support that and the wide vin range of the device.
