UCD3138PSFBEVM-027: Power board was not working above 50% load.

Part Number: UCD3138PSFBEVM-027

Hi Team,

I am facing some issues while testing UCD3138PSFBEVM-027 using UCD3138CC64EVM-030 daughter card. Board is working properly and provide 12V output at Input voltage of 370V to 385V of 50% load if we go beyond 50% load over current protection is tripping and output voltage goes to zero.

Below are images I attached for reference.

Kindly tell me the solution to solve these issues and why it was happened.

  • Hello Soundharya,

Have you modified the existing UCD PFC firmware in any way? Also, can you show what Fusion Studio looks like when you are below 50% load? What electronic load are you using? While the GUI shows a current of 2A, there may be instantaneous spikes that are causing shorts somewhere on your board, which triggers a fault.

Do you have other UCD PSFB EVMs or other UCD EVMs, such as the UCD3138PFCEVM-026 or UCD3138ALLCEVM150? Have you tried with other UCD control cards?

    Regards,
