BQ24725A: Power consumption details

Part Number: BQ24725A

I have a couple questions regarding the TI BQ24725A battery charger controller IC.  Details are provided below.

  1. From what I can tell, I believe that the lowest power consumption state for the IC is when VCC is disconnected per the datasheet snippet below.

  1. Further along in the datasheet, it mentions pulling the ACDET pin to a voltage less than 0V to reset the IC (under certain scenarios) as shown below.

Can you confirm/deny the following?

  • Is the lowest power consumption state for the IC when VCC is disconnected?
  • Is there any power consumption information available when ACDET is less than 0V (but VCC is still connected)?
    • I am really just looking to confirm that the power consumption in the reset state (ACDET < 0V) is not less than the power consumption when VCC is disconnected

Really appreciate the support on this – thanks.

  • Hello Will,

We don't have the data to confirm if the power consumption is lower in the reset state (ACDET < 0V). The lowest known power consumption value is 5uA for the IC is when VCC is disconnected.

I would expected the power consumption for ACDET<0, to be 5uA or higher, since ACDET is not the pin consuming the power in the lowest power consumption state.

    Best Regards,

    Christian.
