TPS65987D: I want to delay the start of PD negotiation by TPS65987D.

Part Number: TPS65987D

Dear support person.
I am using TPS65987D with HSOT.
When PD negotiation processing occurs,
There is an issue where USB negotiation (device detection) fails.
As a trial, I would like to delay the start of PD negotiation.
Is it possible?
I manipulated “0x43 Delay Configuration Register”, but
I don't think there has been any change.

Best Regards

  • You should be able to use the tConnectionDelay field to delay the start of PD negotiation.

    Try the following:

    1. Connect USB-C without changing 0x43 and capture oscilloscope plot of rise to implicit 5V contract and then negotiation of explicit contract.
    2. Write to 0x43 field tConnectionDelay the desired delay.
    3. Read back register to ensure value is written correctly.
    4. Try step 1 again and check for delay in rising of VBUS during explicit contract.

    Kind regards,

    Conner Gillette
