Hello,

Please see my simplified Block diagram below.

I am working on the following HUB design:

INPUT: the USB-C Host (PC or Laptop)

OUTPUTS: 4x USB-C + Display Port

QUESTIONS:

1. Is the Block diagram (with TUSB1046A, TPS65983 and TUSB8044A) correct approach?

2. Since I will not use the outputs of the HUB for charging and the USB-C outputs will be very low current (I will need USB-C Host current setting for fixed value of 1.5A), could I use the simpler approach for PD Controller than TPS65983? Do you have any recommendation?

For USB Type-C sink side, you will want to use TUSB1064, https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tusb1064.pdf.

But you still need a PD controller to support DP Alt Mode for this design.

Thank you for the answer and pointing me to TUSB1064 (my mistake it was typo. Yes, the TUSB1064 it is).

I have one more question:

When I have the schematic done, is there somebody who could review it? Please let me know.
