Hi support team,
Three questions when changing from bq24253 to bq25616.

(1) Although bq24253 has been operated with EN1/2, does bq25616 automatically start charging after detecting power supply at the D± terminal?
(2) Does this mean that there is no function like the bq24253 that supports changing the charging current or stopping charging by operating EN1/2?
(3) Is there any recommended specification information for external ACFET?

    Hi Dice-k, 

    Please see my comments below.

    1)Yes the BQ25616 will automatically start charging after input supply is connected as long as /CE pin is pulled low. More details on the power up sequence can be found in datasheet section 9.3.3 on page 17.

    2)Correct the BQ25616 does not have EN1/2 function. /CE pin can be used to stop charging and you can implement a circuit connected to either ICHG or ILIM pin to change the resistance connected to said pin on the fly to modify charge current or input current limit. 

    3)BQ25616 has a charge pump output pin (ACDRV) to drive an external N-channel ACFET. Additional details can be found in the description column in the Pin Functions table on datasheet page 5.
