LP2992: M3 version

Part Number: LP2992

LDO team,

The LP2992 is available in a new process according to the datasheet.  Page 29 of the datasheet says the orderable should have an M3 at the end to indicate that you are ordering the new chip.  Yet, when you look at ti.com or any of our suppliers, there are no orderable part numbers with “M3” in them.  How can our customer be sure that they’re ordering the newest chip?

Also, the formatting of the part number on page 29 doesn't really match the formatting of the orderable for LP2992.

Thanks,
Darren

  • Darren,

The M3 versions were released for only some devices, we are working to correct this nomenclature on the PDS.

The best way to differentiate between "new chip: and "legacy chip" is to check the shipping label. The "new chip" will have CSO as RFAB which is our 300mm fab.

    Regards,
