Hi team,
will the BQ25898 register 0x00 go to default value when there is USB plug in?
Hi Dane,
Please see my comments below.
Upon USB input plug in IINLIM setting (REG00 [5:0]) will be reset based on PSEL pin logic level. EN_HIZ setting (REG00 bit 7) is also reset to default (HIZ mode disabled) when USB is plugged in.
On the other hand, assuming IC remains powered by battery and watchdog does not expire EN_ILIM (REG00 bit 6) will maintain its previous setting. This bit is not automatically set back to default due to USB plug in.

Hi Garrett,
do we have description about the USB plug behavior of 0x00 REG in the datasheet?
Hi Dane,
It is described in the datasheet, but it is not all in one section.
-Description on IINLIM setting can be found in section 9.2.3.3 'Input Source Type Detection'. In this section it is mentioned that IINLIM register is changed based on detection results following a new USB plug in.
-There is not a datasheet description of EN_HIZ setting, but it is expected for USB plug in to cause the device to exit HIZ mode if EN_HIZ = 1 at the time of USB plug in.
-EN_ILIM setting is reset according to description in table 9. This bit behaves the same as the majority of registers. It is only reset by REG_RST bit, watchdog timer expire, or a loss of power to the BQ25898 IC.
