UCC256403: How to generate Default PWM from UCC256403DDBR

Part Number: UCC256403
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PMP40766,

Hi TI Experts,

I am using UCC256403DDBR for my 500W charger based on PMP40766 design. LLC IC UCC256403 populated in a seperate control card. Now i want to seperately test this control card. I want to generate  a PWM pulse on HO and LO pin when i give 15V power to VCC pin. I am OK to apply external voltages to IC pins to get default PWM. I am planning to make a test jig for this.

What should be the voltage levels of pins or how can i achieve PWM pulses on HO and LO pins without connecting thisn IC to power stage?. Basically this is to ensure the functionality of LLC IC seperately in the production stage.

  • Hello,

I have received your inquiry and it is under review.

  • Hello,

So to test your control card for functionality I would recommend the following.

    1.  To test the high voltage startup you would need and AC source to apply to the HV rectifier at pin 1.

    2.  To test device functionality you would need to bias VCC with a separate bias supply.

    3.  You would need a bias supply to test the BW thresholds

    4.  To adjust the FB current you would need to build a voltage control current sink with a NPN transistor and a resistor.
