BQ76905: Does Bq76905 support charging wake up function?

Part Number: BQ76905

Hello Sir:

We want to know does BQ76905 support charging wake up function or not?

If yes, do you have reference circuit with charging wake up function?

Looking forward your feedback.

Thanks a lot.

  • Hello Statham,

As long as TS or VC0 receive a positive impulse, it will wake-up.

Wake-up circuits to provide this pulse can be created from a charger attachment. Albeit for a different device family, the  bq769x0 boot switch alternatives application note may be useful here. Keep in mind that the absolute max of TS is just 2.1-V, so the pulse generated should be lower than this. I would recommend a voltage at or below 1.8-V and above 1.2-V (To ensure the part wakes-up).

If using VC0 for wake-up, the applied voltage can be higher as its absolute max is 6-V (Albeit recommended max is 3-V).

For an idea on how the turn-on could occur, here is a couple of wake-up circuits we have made (using a push button):

The customer can get creative with their wake-up circuits!

    Best Regards,

    Luis Hernandez Salomon
