TPS92640: Can TPS92640 driver 5.5A LED current?

Hello guys,

One of my customers wants to know whether TPS92640/641 can drive 5.5A LED current with the following conditions or not.

[Condition]
Vin=57~63V, Vo(Vf)=50V, Io(ILED)=5.5A.

Can TPS92640/641 driver 5.5A LED current with these condition?

    Hi Kazuya,

    Yes. TPS92640 / TPS92641 can drive 5.5A LED current with these conditions. 

    Please be noticed that since the duty cycle is very large, the customer should not use high switching frequency. TPS92640 / TPS92641 has a minimum (switching FET) off-time t_OFF-MIN. (Please refer to Section 6.5 Electrical Characteristics from the datasheet for this parameter.) When designing the switching frequency, the customer should choose a low switching frequency to avoid triggering this minimum off-time and leave enough margin.
