Hi Ethan and Christopher,

I have a couple of related questions.

1) In the datasheet for the BQ25756 it shows the TPS2663 eFuse being in figure 9-19. So, the eFuse can be used in a bidirectional mode?

I have a mode of operation where my board is the host and needs to supply power.

2) I will provide a block diagram shortly for discussion.

Hi Dante,

TPS2663 has reverse current blocking and does not allow reverse current flow. Please share your block diagram on how you planned to use TPS2663 in your system so that we can review and comment.

Hi Rakesh,

I thought the eFuse part, the TPS2663 was bidirectional based upon this diagram in the datasheet for the BQ25756E.

yes Dan. You can connect back-to-back eFuses such as TPS1663 for bidirectional current flow and protection.

Look at the BQ25756E datasheet, figure 9-17. This implies one TPS2663 being bidirectional.

If external FET is not used, you don't have control on the reverse path through the body diode of internal MOSFET of TPS2663
