TPS650864: TPS650864 related issues

Part Number: TPS650864

Tool/software:

Hi,

The customer understands that TPS6508640 uses OTP to burn default timing and voltage. Can the customer rewrite it again?

Thanks!

  • Hi Jeno,

Due to the holiday in the US, many of the device experts are currently out of the office. When they return they will look into this and provide a response. Please expect some delay accordingly.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Jeno,

The TPS650864x family of PMIC are pre-programmed with settings in the first bank of NVM memory (Bank 0). There is a second bank (Bank 1) that can be used to program a new set of setting but we do not recommend doing this on the TPS650864x family of parts. Changing the defaults can create issues later if you need support with the device. If the registers do not match the expected defaults of a pre-programmed part version, there will be confusion in the future.

If you want to program this PMIC, I suggest using the TPS650861 user-programmable version which comes with both banks of OTP memory blank by default. You can burn your setting into memory two times using both banks.

The volatile registers can be changed after power up but a power cycle will return the settings to default values unless the settings are burned into one of the two memory banks.

    Regards,

    James
