TPS7A47: Quiescent current depending on Iout

Part Number: TPS7A47
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS7A49, TLV767

Hello experts,

I had some questions about Iq of TPS7A47 & TPS7A49,

  1. As image below (apps note SLVA079), I see that Iq is proportional to output current.
However, I couldn't find "Iq depending on Iout" data on datasheet with our TPS7A47, TPS7A49, TLV767 LDOs..Only Iq vs Vin, or Iq vs temperature.
Could you please share any data on the quiescent current of TPS7A47, TPS7A49, and TLV767 depending on Iout? (It seems competitors have this graph on their datasheet)
  2. If we do not have any data on this, could you please share what the Iq would be if Iout = 5mA for these devices?
  3. Is there a reason why the difference between Iq is so large with : TPS7A47 (60uA) vs TPS7A49 (600us)?

Thank you.

  • Hello Jade,

We have some plots on Iq (aka Ignd) vs. IOUT. Here is where you can find them:

    • TPS7A47 - Figure 7
    • TPS7A49 - Figure 5
    • TLV767 - Figure 7-7 & 7-8

TPS7A47 has 580uA of Iq vs. 49uA for TPS7A49. The reason is that TPS7A47 burns more current in its topology to reach very low noise levels (4uVrms vs. 15uVrms). However, both are relatively high since they are bipolar topologies vs. CMOS.
