TL7700-SEP: SET Reset Pulsewidth

Part Number: TL7700-SEP

Tool/software:

According to the SEL Radiation Report, there were SETs resulting in up to 140us reset pulses. This is with the circuit configured for 51us nominal reset pulse. If the reset pulse is configured for longer pulses, is the expected SET pulsewidth expected to change or remain at <140us?

  • Hi Farhan,

As we have not conducted SEE testing with different CT capacitor configurations, we cannot determine what effects a longer configured RESET pulse time may have on the SET pulse width.

Figure 7-3 in the TL7700-SEP Single-Event Latch-Up (SEL) Radiation Report (SLVK043) shows SET transient durations in a histogram.

Three spikes of more common SET duration ranges are visible in the histogram. These more common durations could indicate that the configured RESET pulse time has an effect on the SET event duration. However, it is important to note again that since we have not collected SEE data with different configured RESET pulse times, it is not possible to say what the effect of a longer RESET pulse time would be on SETs, if any.

    Thanks,

    Andy
