TPS53689T: Queries regarding VOUT COMMAND

Part Number: TPS53689T

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

When I am trying to edit Vout Control Source from SVID to PMBus, I am getting NACK, and it is returning back to SVID in Fusion Software.

Initially, If I am setting output voltage using VOUT COMMND in Fusion, then I compulsorily need to keep PMBus as source?

Also, there is no separate Vboot command, Only Vout Command is there, so If I need to keep Vboot and Vout different, then how can I do it?

Thanks,

Siddhi

  • Hi Siddhi,

With regards to the NACK you are receiving while switching from SVID to PMBus, please verify that the powerstages are not regulating when you write to hardware and that Fusion is not polling. There is a Start/Stop Polling button above the different configuration tabs. Please let me know if turning off regulation and stopping polling help.

If you are setting the output voltage using PMBus, you do not need to keep PMBus as a source but by switching back to SVID, you are allowing the ASIC to use SVID to change the output voltage.

To use a separate Vboot at power up, you will need to go to the advanced tab that is found on the left side of Fusion. This tab is password protected. Please reach out to  to gain access. Once you have access, there is a drop down labeled 'Boot Pin Behavior' where you can change the device to use pin detection to set up your desired boot voltage.

    Hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

    Nash

  • Hi Nash,

I tried with stop polling and powerstage not regulating(did not gave voltage to Vin pin of driver), Still not able to change SVID to PMBus, it is giving NACK.

Thanks, I have snet mail to VR email id for password for advance tab.

    Thanks,

    Siddhi

  • Hi Siddhi,

Can you please upload your configuration file for the controller as well as your schematics for the board? The configuration files can be exported in the file tab in the top left.

    Best Regards,

    Nash

  • Hi Nash,

Can I send the schematic and configuration files directly to you, instead of sharing here?

    Thanks,

    Siddhi
