BQ25629: How to detect when a battery is not connected

Part Number: BQ25629

Dear Sirs and Madams,

As per the FAQ below, I understand that charging must be stopped when the battery is not connected.

[FAQ] BQ25601: [FAQ] Why does the LED connected to STAT pin flashes and the SYS voltage unstable when battery is not connected for BQ25601, BQ25601D, BQ25606, BQ25611D, BQ25616, BQ25616J, BQ25618, BQ25619, BQ25600, BQ25600D, BQ25600C? - Power management forum - Power management - TI E2E support forums

I have a question regarding the FAQ, but is it possible to detect from the BQ25629 register that the battery is not connected to the BQ25629?

Is there no other way but to use an external MCU to detect that the status terminal frequently toggles when the battery is disconnected?
