TPS61378-Q1: Output voltage when a voltage higher than the set voltage is input

We are considering a circuit with an input voltage of 9V and an output voltage of 12V.
If the output voltage setting is 12V and the input voltage is higher than 12V (e.g. 13V), what will happen to the output voltage of the TPS61378-Q1?

Hi Fukasawa,

For TPS61378-Q1 when Vin is higher than Vo, the device will enter into down mode and the Vo can still be regulated in the setting 12V.

In this mode, the ISO FET is not fully on so there will be additional power loss. And the current limit will be clamped lower than the setting current limit.

This down mode is designed for start-up phase for a better soft-start control. And this mode is usually avoided in normal work conditions.
