Hi,

I'd like to go as low as 200 kHz (switching frequency). 5 V, 2 A output. I do not have any specific requirments when it comes to peak-to-peak current and such. What would be a reasonable value for the inductor? Is there any existing design of the active EMI filter for this application?

Hi Darius,

2A is quite low - we recommend using a converter (with integrated FETs) for such an application. See the LMQ64420-Q1 as an example or check this link for more options:

Another option is to use a power module with integrated inductor, although not available in Q grade: https://www.ti.com/power-management/dcdc-power-modules/power-modules-integrated-inductor/overview.html

If you really want to use the LM25149-Q1 with external FETs, then I recommend using the quickstart calculator to assist with component selection. The link is in the product folder. I doubt you need AEF at this current level, so the equivalent controller without AEF is the LM25148-Q1. However, for much easier design and lower component count, the converter option is the way to go.
