TPS1641: About Fault condition.

Hi team,

I'd like to know about the Fault conditions.
I'm using TPS16413 and Fault is asserted.
But, there are no abnormality that fit the Fault condition.

Could you please check at the waveform and circuit in a private message?

What is the load ? Can you please check with rheostat load and confirm ?

Hi Rakesh,

The load is motor (Pump).
Current waveform is wavy.
But it is not on the current limit.

I'd like to converse with you over the waveform that cannot be disclosed in this post.

Hi Kengo,

Thanks for the details. With motor load, there is a chance of false IN-OUT trigger and shut down

Is it working fine with resistive load ?

Thank you for your comment.

Yes, only this load can cause the Fault.
I'm suspicious of the IN to short detection too.
Could you please advise me on the conditions under which this Fault occurs?
Is this device not a good choice for motorized loads?

Hi Kengo,

Any switching load at the output of eFuse which meets below criteria can trigger IN-OUT short fault. Please use TPS16417 instead of TPS16413

Hi Rakesh,

Waveforms are attached.
The current waveform is wavy and FAULT is asserted.
Is there any other way than changing the device?

Black :IN
Blue : OUT
Red : Fault
Green : Iout

No Kengo. There is no workaround that why we released new variants without IN-OUT short detection feature.
