TPS51285B: OCP trigger

Part Number: TPS51285B
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS51285A

Doe TPS51285B current trigger to OCP set point will protect immediately?

Or it allow a short period over OCP set point? If yes, what is the time period. thanks!

  • Hi Jeff,

My colleague Aurora will give you feedback during these days. Thanks!

  • Hi Jeff,

TPS51285A and TPS51285B have cycle-by-cycle over current limiting control. The inductor current is monitored during the OFF state and the controller maintains the OFF state during the inductor current is larger than the overcurrent trip level. So yes, you're right. The inductor current information is also monitored and should be below the overcurrent threshold to initiate this new cycle. Hope this can help. Thanks.
