BQ25731: Stability Analysis Bode Plot

Hello,

We would like to measure the bode plot stability of the BQ25731.

Previous discussions mentioned is not possible in current mode control, but will work in voltage mode control.

  • Could you please show where to inject the AC wave for the bode analysis?  Are we correct?
  • Is it possible to infer the stability from going from a light load to heavy load step?

    Hi Keith,

    There are many loops inside the charger. We would like to know which loop is of interest.  For example, if the charger is operating in charge current loop, any injection on the RAC is ignored. 

    You could inject the signal on RACP, but the measurement ground should be the place after RAC resistor on the high side rail. 

    We don't suggest Bode plot. I think it is more intuitive to observe the load step if there is a concern.
