LP5036: Some question about the datasheet

Part Number: LP5036

Tool/software:

Hi, i am develop a siren with 30 RGB leds, during the development , i am confuse with the datasheet,
First, what is the difference of the Maximum sink current and Internal sink current limit? Does mean Internal sink current limit is the IC operating current when the ic connecting with full 36 LED diodes?
Second, Maximum sink current is per channel or all channel share together?

third, is  means if all 36 channel have a 10mA led, the ic will sink 360mA maximum current?

  • Hi Nelson,

    Please refer the comments below:

    1. The internal sink current limit represents the internal current sink capability but we don't recommend use LP50 family under this current limit since we can't guarantee the EC spec such as C2C, D2D and headroom. The maximum sink current is the spec we can guarantee the EC spec and we usually recommend customers to use LP50 family under this current condition.

    2. Maximum sink current is for per channel.

    3. Yes, as you understand it.

    BR, Jared
