ULN2803C: Internal diode specifications

Hello,

The following diode specifications can be found in the ULN2803C data sheet:

  • Output clamp current = 500mA (max)
  • Clamp forward voltage = 1.3V (typ)
  • Clamp reverse current = 50 uA (max)

Do these refer to the diode between the collector and COM pin?
Are there further specifications for the diode between the emitter and collector pin?

    Welcome to e2e!

    Yes, the specifications are for the diode from C to COM. There aren't any specifications for the E to C diode but this is mainly for standard ESD protection. If you are within the Absolute Maximum Conditions then there will be no issues - what specifically are you looking for?

    Thank you very much for your reply.
    I was surprised that there is no information on this diode in the data sheet. For example, I would have liked information on the forward voltage and forward current. I thought there might be information in addition to the data sheet. But this does not seem to be the case, so your answer is sufficient for me. If anything else is unclear, I will get back to you.
