UC1707-SP: Could be broken when V+in is ON and Vc is floating?

Hello,

My customer has a question
The UC1707-SP CDIP package has power pins at 14 pin (+Vin) and 8 pins (+Vc), but my customer turned on power to only 14 pins and left 8 pin floating(open). Could the UC1707 be broken under the above conditions?

Hey Hirano,

They would likely not damage the device.
The device however, would not run properly.

Do you mean the device would not be damaged, but it might not work properly anymore even if both +Vin and +Vc are supplied correctly?

Correct,

Vc is used as the supply rails for the output.
Thus is Vc is not supplied the device will not output

Once +Vc is supplied correctly again, the device could start working correctly again?
