UCC14241-Q1: Urgent information required on power dissipation calculation for IC UCC14241-Q1

Part Number: UCC14241-Q1

Tool/software:

Part Number: UCC14241-Q1

Dear Texas Instruments Team,

Urgent information required on power dissipation calculation for IC UCC14241-Q1. We are conducting a worst-case analysis, and this data is critical for our project timeline.

  • Hi,

The datasheet has its thermal resistance, section 7.4, and after you calculate your external circuit power need then figure out how much power from the device, you can get the junction temperature. You need provide where you need to know how to move otherwise just use the above to get the Tj.

  • Hi Huang thank you for quick response,

1.how to calculate internal power dissipation of IC UCC14241-q1

DC-DC IC module has full bridge converter and other sub circuits, please provide the detailed reference calculations or suggest a way to calculate.

    2. This question related to TPS1H200AQDGNRQ1; can you provide about information related to input pin current requirement

  • Hi,

I am forwarding this to an expert to help. You should receive support within this week.

  • Even though UCC14241-Q1 is a complete DC/DC converter module, we do not calculate internal power dissipation down to the component level. We use FEA to simulate total parametric thermal performance and the simulated data is used to generate the ψJx and θJx thermal impedance shown in the data sheet. These thermal impedance parameters are provided to allow customers to make junction temperature predictions.

Total UCC14241 power dissipation is estimated using the efficiency curves shown in the data sheets and can also be seen referring to the EVM user Guides.

    Regards,

    Steve
