TLC7705M: TLC7705QPWREP vs TLC7705QPWR

Part Number: TLC7705M
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS3760

Tool/software:

Texas Instruments CC 01295 POC Change Management Team issued a Life-of-Type buy date for P/N TLC7705QPWREP, Microcircuit. The last date to order new parts is 31AUG2024. POC recommended replacement P/N TLC7705QPW and TPS3760A012DYYR. The main difference I'm seeing is the max supply current from TLC7705QPWREP to TLC7705QPWR decreasing from 16mA to 16uA. The circuit diagrams look the same. The “Supply current vs Supply voltage” graphs  shapes are identical for the two datasheets. Why the huge drop in max supply current if everything else seems to have stayed the same?

  • Hello,

The 16mA in the beginning of the TLC7705QPWREP datasheet is a typo. The correct spec of 16uA max is listed in the Electrical Characteristics table in the datasheet. The main difference between the two devices is TLC7705QPWREP is a -EP enhanced product. As these are both old devices, I recommend moving to a newer device such as TPS3760.

    Thanks,

    Walter
