Hello Michael,

You will need to use an MCU to communicate to the BQ27z746 and charger. The BQ27z746 can communicate charging voltage and current to a smart charger. Section 12.1 of the TRM discuss more about this.

The charger will depend on the specific battery you are using. I will reassign this thread to the charger group to further assist you.

Hello Michael,

The BQ27Z746 is designed to work with any single cell chargers (since it is a single cell gauge + protector), it does not broadcast directly to a charger though, the host will need to relay the information to the charger. To give suggestions for a charger we would need to know the specifications of your system, like the max charge current, taper current requirements, communication interface/standalone, etc.
