UCC28061: Query on power stages design

Hi,

We are designing a Audio system for 4 amplifiers requiring 600W power.

I am using UCC28061 for PFC and boosting the Input AC supply (110Vac to 260Vac) into 380Vdc.

380Vdc is further used for generating AUX Supply (12V, 15V and 48V).

I am looking for either a FLYBACK converter for my second stage AUX Supply .OR. any IC that can do Active PFC and at the same can generate the AUX supply taking PSR.

Let me know if i can get any suggestion, or if i am going wrong on the design.

    Hello Amit, 

    Thank you for your interest in the UCC28061 interleaving PFC controller. 

    The VCC of this controller is generally biased by an AUX supply of ~15V which must be up and regulating before the PFC can be active.  This controller does not generate its own bias supply.  

    Here are two references to finding the right off-line flyback controller for your application:

    The first is a bit more dated than the second, but both have useful information in them.

    In addition, there are general purpose PWM controllers that can function as PSR flybacks from wide-range rectified AC (PFC output whether PFC is operating or not).
    If you have follow-on questions about flyback controllers, I recommend that you open a new E2E thread specifically for that so that the experts in the low-power group can advise you better than I can.

    Yes, i checked that in the datasheet and we are generating the 15V AUX supply for the IC, but i am curious isn´t there any technology update for this biased supply to be taken care off. 

    I am updating my design with UCC208063 as they have same features but let me know if there are any other ICs available for better performance and same features.

    Sure, currently i have NCP1342 for AUX supplies, let me know if you can suggest any other better IC for the purpose.

    I apologize for the two links opening to the same file.  I have no idea why that happened.

    The UCC28063 controller is the closest match to the UCC28061, but with improved performance and some new features. 
    The UCC28064A and UCC28065 are newer and of the same family and have input voltage feed-forward (VFF) and Burst-mode built in as well. 
    The VFF feature makes COMP voltage proportional to power level without modification by Vin.  This helps to set consistent phase-shedding and Burst mode thresholds, but changes the TSET programming method.

    For guidance on AUX supply controllers, please post a new E2E question on that topic alone, so that experts in that group can pick up the post and help you better than I can.
