Hello team,

Hope you are doing well.

My customer wants to replace Maxim 3-channel buck to our TPS62442-Q1, but not sure about the current capability.

The two channels' requirements are separately 3V3->1V(1.8A) and 3V3->1V35(2.2A)

It is showed we can supply 2A+2A or 1A+3A in our datasheet, I want to check if it can supply 1.8A+2.2A, is it total 4A current capability for our part? Can we divide according to application requirement? Or we need to control under limit strictly?

My understanding is that, the total should be a 4A for TPS62442-Q1. So, the above use case should be fine.

In any case, I recommend to test this on an EVM thoroughly using application conditions before actual implementation.

Can you help test the actual current capability in EVM and give us a conclusion.

Customer are using MAX16930, field team are trying to replace it.

I looked into the database and we have validation data showing each channel driven much above 2A.

So, that should be fine.
