TPS536C5: Please help to list what condition will trigger PMBUS Alert low

Part Number: TPS536C5

Tool/software:

Hi Sir,

Please help to list what condition will trigger PMBUS Alert low?

for example: when vout > v_max, vout < v_min…?

Thanks~

Roger

  • Hi Roger,
Thanks for posting to the E2E forums. I have compiled a list of conditions that will cause the TPS536C5 controller to set PMBUS Alert low:

    • If the NVM fault log has non-zero fault info at power on
    • Tracking Over Voltage Warning, occurs if vout > VOUT_OV_WARN_LIMIT
    • Tracking Over Voltage Fault, occurs if vout > VOUT_OV_FAULT_LIMIT
    • Fixed Over Voltage Fault, occurs if vout > VOUT_MAX + OVFIX
    • Tracking Under Voltage Warning, occurs if vout < VOUT_UV_WARN_LIMIT
    • Tracking Under Voltage Fault, occurs if vout < VOUT_UV_FAULT_LIMIT
    • Fixed Under Voltage Fault, occurs if vout < VOUT_MIN - UVFIX
    • TON_MAX fault, occurs if vout did not rise to regulation level within set time limit,TON_MAX, during soft start
    • Over Current Warning, occurs if total iout > IOUT_OC_WARN_LIMIT
    • Over Current Fault, occurs if total iout > IOUT_OC_FAULT_LIMIT
    • Input Over Voltage Fault, occurs if vin > VIN_OV_FAULT_LIMIT
    • Input Over Current Fault, occurs if iin < IIN_OC_FAULT_LIMIT
    • Input Over Power Warning, occurs if pin > PIN_OP_WARN_LIMIT
    • Over Temperature Warning, occurs if temperature > OT_WARN_LIMIT
    • Over Temperature Fault, occurs if temperature > OT_FAULT_LIMIT
    • Power Stage Fault, occurs if TAO pulled high
    • Power Stage not ready, occurs if TAO pulled low

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,
    Troy
