My customer is considering external sync for TL494.
They found the reference circuit on application note (SLVA001).
However, around circuits are complex and uses many elements.
Therefore, they are looking for an easier way to achieve this.
So they came up with the following method, but is it possible?

Your circuit does not seem to work. The SYNC is to make the Ct earlier to reach peak so that is why an external pulse through the D1 to push Ct to reach peak. But your circuit has no such a push. So it does not seem that your circuit can work. Your circuit is to pull down the Ct which cannot terminate the current cycle sooner so not able to make SYNC.
