While we're bringing up a new board, We are encountering issues with charging the battery. To resolve this, we need clarification on the following points:

Could you please clarify whether that does the charging works automatically when the battery is connected or whether we need any initial configuration to turn on charging.
What are the specific conditions necessary or Any other critical parameters or settings for charging to occur using the BQ25628E?
Are there any specific connections or configurations required between the BQ25628E charger and the BQ27Z746YAHR fuel gauge to ensure proper charging and monitoring?

Hi,

1. Yes if the charging conditions are met. Please see 8.3.5.1 Autonomous Charging Cycle on the d/s for the details.

2. To enable charge, EN_CHG = 1 and /CE pin is low

3. To get familiar with the BQ25628E operations, it is better to evaluate without fuel gauge first.

Hi Ning T,

We read the default status of VREG,VRECHG,ITRICKLE,IPRECHG,ICHG etc, in BQ25628ERYKR and also the EN_CHG status.The EN_CHG = 1 and /CE =0 ,but the charging doesn't occur. We also read the 1fh (FAULT Status 0) and it shows 00000001 ,we set TS_IGNORE=1 and again readed 1fh ,but the fault is still there.How we can able to charge ? is any another configuration there.Please help us

Hi,

We were able to charge now the battery through charger ic BQ25628ERYKR after TS_IGNORE=1,but when we configured the register in another board we were not able to charge. Could you please clarify on this?

Hi Nithya,

Are you saying board#1 may charge after setting TS_IGNORE=1 but board#2 can not charge after setting TS_IGNORE=1?

In our board, EN_CHG = 1 and /CE pin is low; yet, we are unable to charge using charger ic; could you please help with this?

Also when we check the operation status of fuel gauge it shows safety status is enabled due to under temperature in discharge(UTD).we replaced the cell even then it shows the same. Please help us on this
