TPS53689T: CSPIN (Pin 37) functionality

Part Number: TPS53689T

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

Want to know that, whether CSPIN (pin 37) can be used as voltage monitor also?

This pin is not mentioned as multi functionality pin in datasheet.

I am getting 12V at this pin (as output). Is this behavior expected ?

If not, then what must be the reason for this?

Below I am attaching the circuit, this OUT is going to pin 37 of controller TPS53689T, so 1V is expected, but getting 12V.

Is this schematic fine? or need to connect current sense circuitry only?

Thanks,
Siddhi

  • Hi Siddhi,

PIN 38 is dedicated for VIN sensing.
We have pin 37 for input current sensing. Actually, one needs to use a shunt in 12V rail. One end of the shunt goes to pin 37 and another goes to 38. Based on the differential voltage input current is measured. In case one is not interested in input current, they can just short pin 37 and 38.
