Hi TIer
Could I use TPS2552DBVEVM-364 to test TPS2552D?
Or which EVM I can use?
Thank you very much.

Hello,
TPS2552DBVEVM-364 should work to test TPS2552D. Please note that TPS2552D is only available with the SOT-23(DBV) package. In the list of materials found in the TPS2552DBVEVM-364 User Guide, you will see that TPS2552D and other devices with the SOT-23 package correspond with "U1" under the REF DES column. Please keep this in mind when testing.
Thanks,
Abraham
No problem. I will be closing this thread. Please start a new thread for any other queries.
Do you know how much noise I add to the system when I series this switch behind the LDO? I don't see this in the datasheet. Thank you very much.
Hello,
I will look into this and respond back to you within three business days.
Thanks,
Abraham
Hello,
Thank you for your patience. The TPS2552D, and all other switches that WVIN supports, are USB power switches and therefore intended to be placed before a USB receptacle to limit current in case of short circuits. Could you explain the reasoning for putting the switch in series behind an LDO? Also, would you be able to provide a schematic? Without knowing what other components are connected to the circuit it is not possible to estimate additional noise.
Thanks,
Abraham
Customers want to use the TPS2552D to limit the current to the signal chain system power supply, with the TPS2552D having an LDO (5V output) front and a dynamic load behind it. So my customer would like to know how much noise the TPS2552D itself generates and to derive the noise impact on the signal chain. Do we have approximate estimates ?
Hello,
I will look into this and respond back to you tomorrow. In the meantime, would you be able to provide a schematic or other supporting documents so I can get a better understanding of the customer's desires?
Thanks,
Abraham
Hi Yuxi,
Is the TPS2552D not being used for a USB application? Output ripple/noise % is not something that we characterize with our USB switches.
What is powering the TPS2552D? Is a noisy VIN expected? Is VOUT >5V?
Under normal operating conditions, any potential noise/transients at the input and output is manageable with proper placements of input and output capacitors and optimized capacitance values.

Hi Seong
Hope you are well.
My customer has a need, please help to see if we have a way to do this:
1. The customer's TPS2552D will have some capacitors behind it. At the start of power up, the capacitors will need to be charged, so a large current (300mA) will flow through the TPS2552D. do we have a way to temporarily allow this current to pass? In system TPS2552D set 100mA current limited.
