We have incorporated the below regulator IC in one of our project designs.
we sometimes face shorting/heating issues with the regulator when frequent on/off input supply happens or surges.
Attached Reg schematic below for your kind ref. please review it and let us know if any change/modification is needed. however, the regulator output voltage is proper.
