BQ24610: Production line testing - how to?

Part Number: BQ24610

Tool/software:

Hi!

My product uses BQ24610 charging manager. I wonder how products with similar solutions get tested on assembly line? I'm aiming at ~2k units/year production. I would like to test:

  • correct starting/termination current
  • correct fast charging current
  • correct target voltage (no overloading)
  • correct status signalling

Do people here have some experience in this topic? Any industry standard devices, measurement tools? I guess I would need a device that repeatably emulates a battery pack behaviour (internal resistance, load-vs-voltage curve etc.), that would also allow me to inject fault states (short, open circuit, overvoltage etc)? I think simple DC load is not sufficient as BQ expects certain Li-Ion specific interaction, eg. it probes battery at startup with low current, expecting certain voltage rise, or it expects some voltage drop after a pause in pushing current.

Best regards,

Mateusz
