UCC27282-Q1: UCC27282 ESD rating

Part Number: UCC27282-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi HPD experts!

May I know why the HS HB HO HBM are marked lower between and other pins?  What makes the difference?

Thanks!

  • Hey Josh,

Thank you for reaching out with your question regarding the UCC27282-Q1.

All pins within the gate driver have their own ESD structures for protecting internal circuitry from ESD events. The high voltage pins (HB, HO, and HS) have to have different ESD characteristics and structures than the low voltage pins such as LO, LI, HI and VDD. This is why it is spec'd different is because it requires these different protections. For the 500V on the HBM rating, this is what the JEDEC requirement is and so we do satisfy that without being the same 2kV as the rest of the pins.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thank you,

    William Moore
